Saturday, June 23rd 2007 – Dorr Rebellion Re-Enactment, Gloucester, RI. Re-enactment of the march of the RI Militias, attack on the Dorrite stronghold and Town of Chepachet with the finale at the Stage Coach Inn. The Dorr Rebellion was a short-lived armed insurrection in Rhode Island in 1841 and 1842, led by Thomas Wilson Dorr who was agitating for changes to the state's electoral system. |
